Award Winning Cancer AI Startup Trial Pathfinder

By Lou Portero - Last Updated: May 10, 2022

Trial Pathfinder is developing clinical trials AI to help patients with cancer clinical trials. In this video, James Zou discusses the new start-up. The start-up focuses on the eligibility criteria for oncology clinical trials. Zou states these eligibility criteria may be too restrictive, and Trial Pathfinder aims to solve that by making eligibility “simplified and broadened”.

Trial Pathfinder looked at real-world data to emulate “completed trials of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer using data from a nationwide database of electronic health records comprising 61,094 patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer.” According to Zou, Trial Pathfinder can double the number of patients and will lead to more women and minorities participating. Trial Pathfinder is currently being tested with its partners in the pharmaceutical industry.
